Opportunity to open a mosque
There was no full-scale mosque in Fukuoka (A city located on the northern shore of the island of Kyushu region.), and the first mosque with a dome and minaret, the symbols of a mosque, was built in Fukuoka.
Staff
The administrator is from Ghana. Most of the visitors are Asian, such as Pakistani, Bangladeshi, and Indonesians, but there are also Arab and Egyptian visitors too.
Customer base
There were many students when the university was nearby, but now the mosque has moved, there are fewer students and many permanent residents who comes from the neighborhood and from afar which takes an hour to come. There are few women, and children are welcome to come if they can do it quietly, but they sometimes pray in a separate room instead of the main prayer room. Many people come on Fridays.
Access
2-minute walk from JR Hakozaki Station (2 stops, 5-minute from JR Hakata Station.). Turn right from the west exit and follow the station elevation and you will see the tower of the mosque. Cross the Hakozaki 3-chome traffic light and follow the elevated road again and the mosque is on your left. There is also a bus from Tenjin Station to Hakozaki Station. There are none dedicated parking lot, but coin-operated parking is available nearby.
