Saffron Ikebukuro
It you see India; you will understand the earth. We were told this word by the owner, which I think I have heard a similar word few times before. The owner who is from India has graduated from university in India, studied economics at graduate school in Japan, and kept studying various things. The owner has an extensive knowledge, that we became full with the knowledges he shared with us. Since he has experienced illness, he thinks that a balanced diet leads to a healthy body and told us the importance of food. He grows spice herbs at his house and is being careful with his meals. There are many Indian restaurants, but curry is separated to Indian style and Nepal style, and they say the this is the only restaurant that offer authentic Indian curry. There are many dishes using vegetables, which dose not have strong tase and is light to eat. There is a curry using the world most spicy chili pepper, so challenge if you want to try the supper hot and yummy taste. They are particular about the ingredients they serve, and can also provide dishes as the customer requests. People who have to be careful with their food and can not eat outside due to illness, also seem to enjoy dining at this restaurant. We took away the dishes we couldn’t finish, but they were well balanced and packaged for us, which we could feel the owner's thoughtfulness in making sure they would not fall apart when we carried them out. When we were leaving, the owner said to us, “Life is a continuous learning process”, which I think he was trying to say this to himself and us, but we felt his positive attitude and encouragement for us.

When the Great East Japan Earthquake occurred in 2011, there were many business person who did not come back after evacuating abroad, but the owner was thinking that is there anything he can do for Japan, which has been helpful, and was asked if he was interested in purchasing this restaurant. They were thinking of making a restaurant that offers Halal, vegan and vegetarian cuisine, changing the menu from the previous restaurant.
